Ledger Art Dept

Ledger Art Dept

The Challenge

The Ledger creative team produces an enormous volume of work — campaigns, product launches, 3D, motion, editorial — most of which never surfaces publicly. Process stays internal. Exploration goes unseen. The people making it rarely get credit that reaches beyond a company Slack. As the team scaled, there was no dedicated space to celebrate them, or to let the world see Ledger as a creative organization rather than just a product company.

The Objective

Create a platform for the brand to be experienced differently. A behind-the-scenes window into one of fintech's most creative teams — for designers, for the crypto-curious, and for anyone who cares about how things actually get made.

The Creative Approach

I conceived and launched Ledger Art Dept as an editorial-style platform built around the team's work, process, and people. It sits alongside Ledger's primary brand presence but operates with a different register — more human, more exploratory, team-first. The goal was to give individual contributors a public platform, surface work that would otherwise never reach an audience, and build a secondary brand perception for Ledger rooted in creativity rather than security alone. The website design and execution earned the recognition that followed.

The team

The full Art Dept — copywriters, UX writers, producers, PM, 3D designers, and brand designers. This was a team initiative, conceived and led by me. Web design by Joseph Berry.

Production Highlights

Concept, naming, editorial direction, and launch of ledgerartdept.com — a design-led content platform featuring original written content, behind-the-scenes creative process coverage, and spotlights on individual team members and disciplines. Built with web designer Joseph Berry and maintained as a living editorial platform.

The Impact

Ledger Art Dept gave the creative team a public identity — and the associated brand platform brand.ledger.com was recognised with Awwwards Site of the Day (November 2025) and CSS Design Awards Website of the Day (September 2025), alongside Best UI Design, Best UX Design, and Best Innovation. A triple design award win for a platform built to celebrate the people behind the work.
